With Hollywood using Las Vegas as the backdrop for more and more films and TV shows, organizers say now is a great time for the CineVegas Film Festival and the boost it will bring to the local economy.
The film festival will be going on all week at the Palms Resort.
Last year, 382 productions were filmed in the valley, including 22 movies. The Nevada Film Office says they brought in more than $100 million.
"Everything from accommodations, entertainment, hiring local crews using our resources, everything that it takes to get hte production done and all the fun they have while they're here," said Sarah Bontrager of the Nevada Film Office.
