Marcos Arenas, a Bonanza High School student who was assaulted Thursday during an attempted theft, has died, Metro Police said.

The FBI is taking a hard look at a Las Vegas businessman who almost became Clark County's sheriff.

Jerry Airola owns Silver State helicopters, which had thousands of students in several states before it declared bankruptcy and closed its doors earlier this year.

Students complain that the company accepted millions of dollars in tuition payments even though it was ready to fold.

Now students say they've been contacted by the FBI which reportedly regards them to be 'crime victims.'

Company owner Jerry Airola spent millions of dollars promoting his candidacy for sheriff a few years ago. His candidacy suffered after the I-Team reported that Airola's claimed law enforcement background was greatly exaggerated. He lost in a runoff with Sheriff Doug Gillespie.

Airola has not been available to comment on the FBI probe and an FBI spokesman here declined to comment on whether a formal investigation is underway.
