Eight-years-old and many more years to give to the right adoptive family. Wednesday's Child this week is Christian, a handsome young boy.
Here's something Christian and I discovered together at Sunset Park the other day: ducks like French Fries. Like most kids, Christian got a kick out of the water-birds but had an even sharper eye out for the ants underfoot.
"I don't want to step on them, 'cause they're good and crickets are good too," he said.
Christian is in the 2nd grade, loves playing soccer and basketball and loves to laugh.
"You know, he's a really good kid, like I say, he's very outspoken and he's loving you know. And like I said, a family that would be able to adopt him, or a family that's interested in adopting him, is definitely gonna receive a lot of love from this kid," says Rich, a recruitment specialist for the County's Division of Family Services.
Christian needs a consistent home that offers clear rules and plenty of love.
"The best home for Christian would be a family that is going to be patient with him, is going to definitely have structure in their home, is gonna have a lot of fun with him, a family that is going to continue to educate to just allow him to be himself," says Rich.
You can begin the process of adopting Christian right now by calling the Adoption Exchange right now at 4365-6335. They'll have answers for you.
