(June 5) -- Nevada inspects each of its 46 nursing homes every year and submits that information to Medicare, which posts the results on a Website.
The agency tracks the number of violations committed by each home or facility, as well as the number of nurses and beds. It also reports on the percentage of residents with medical problems such as bed sores.
This information may be helpful for people evaluating different homes, but Peter Ashkenaz, a spokesman for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, cautions that people should always visit a home before making an final decision.
