I-Team: Las Vegas Doctor Arrested on Bad Check Charges

Posted: Updated:

A Las Vegas doctor is under arrest facing felony charges of trying to pass bad checks at several local casinos. The doctor practices here in Las Vegas and also in Oklahoma City where he was arrested Thursday morning.

Dr. David Linden is charged with trying to pass those bad checks last year at three local casinos. Linden is a medical doctor who has been licensed in Nevada since 2005. He primarily practices in the area of psychiatry.

Dr. Linden was arrested at his office without incident in Oklahoma. Authorities acted at the request of authorities in Clark County.

Dr. Linden works locally out of an office on Rancho Drive between Charleston and Alta. His business is called "Linden Research Consultants." Nobody at his local office would comment on the doctor's arrest.

The District Attorney is charging Linden with passing $300,000 worth of bad checks at three local casinos. According to the complaint, $150,000 in bad checks were passed at the Las Vegas Hilton, $100,000 at Caesars Palace and $50,000 at the Hard Rock.

All of the alleged crimes occurred between Jan. and May of 2007. This is not Dr. Linden's first run-in with the law. In Nov. 2006, he was suspended for 45 days by Oklahoma medical authorities for sexual misconduct. That triggered a parallel settlement with the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners. Nevada authorities did not suspend Dr. Linden's license to practice but put him on probation for two years.

Linden will be extradited to Nevada to face these criminal charges.
