A city made famous by a so-called alien crash will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the "Roswell Incident" in July.

The "Amazing Roswell UFO Festival" runs Thursday, July 5 through Sunday, July 8.

The small city located in southeastern New Mexico landed on the map in July 1947 after the local military issued a press release saying pieces of a "crashed disk" were discovered. The rancher who found the crash site said he thought it might be pieces of a flying saucer.

The U.S. military maintains that it was a top-secret research balloon that had crashed.

Investigative Reporter George Knapp has followed this intriguing story for nearly two decades.
