Henderson police hope new pictures showing a gunman who opened fire at a Jack in the Box restaurant will help find the killer.

It's a scary picture -- a man holding a gun and wearing a hooded jacket. Police say last Tuesday 45-year-old Kenneth Hardwick was shot and killed when the gunman walked up to his car and opened fire.

Todd Rasmussen, Henderson Police Department, said, "We are focusing on this as an event that was not random."

Officer Rasmussen is hoping video pictures will bring people forward. One picture shows a car that was in line at the drive through when the crime happened.

"There was a car in front of the vehicle and a couple that came up pulled into the drive through, noticed what had happened, reversed out and left," Rasmussen described.

Police believe the picture of a man who walked by the scene of the shooting minutes after Hardwick was killed can help them solve this murder.

Officer Rasmussen explained, "This man was at the Jack in the Box when the crime occurred, or just right after it. This photo was taken right after it happened, we'd like to talk to him."

Police know there may be other eyewitnesses who saw what happened and are pleading for them to come forward.

"We can conceal their identification, keep them safe. They can call Secret Witness, call us directly. We can make sure whoever did this doesn't know they're testifying against them, but we want them to come forward with that information," Rasmussen continued.

Police say the suspect drove off in the white car in the video after the shooting, possibly with other people inside.

The shooting happened around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the Jack in the Box at Eastern and Horizon Ridge.

Henderson police urge eyewitnesses to call detectives at 267-4750.
