Jessica helping Anchor Kevin Janison with weather. Most kids start showing their personality and interests early on, so at the age of 13, this week's Wednesday's Child is pretty easy to read-- and it's all good. We invited Jessica to come take a tour of the Channel 8 studios. She fit right in.
Jessica felt at home in the weather center, on the news desk, and in front of the camera in general. She's a delightful, outgoing and friendly girl who's not afraid to speak out.
Jessica is living in her third foster home right now, and has a good attitude about it, but also knows it falls short of a permanent home.
"Why would I want to be adopted? 'Cause I want a home, someone to love me," says Jessica.
Above all, Jennifer is sociable, talkative and open-minded. She's doing well in her grade level and excels at swimming and drawing.
"She wants me to tell everyone what she wants to be when she grows up because she didn't want to tell you that herself. She either wants to be a photographer or a fashion designer. She's very much into art, drawing," says Mark, an advocate for Jessica.
Mark has been Jessica's advocate for about two years and he says there are no big secrets here. Jessica has the same hopes and dreams we all have.
"I think I would wish for the same things she wished for herself. Just somebody who says I'm with ya and it doesn't matter -- thick or thin -- if you get good grades or bad grades, or whatever. You don't have to worry about ever going anywhere else. This is your home," said Mark.
