NORTH LAS VEGAS--

Ajuan Malcolm Theus, 22, was arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 25-year-old man in North Las Vegas.  North Las Vegas Police said they received the call about the incident in the 5400 block of Jose Ernesto Street Sunday afternoon at around 3:30 p.m.

When officers arrived to the scene, they said they found the victim, whose name hasn't been released yet, in a car suffering from multiple gun shot wounds.  He was transported to University Medical Center (UMC) where he later died.

As of right now, the investigation showed there was an argument between the victim and Theus in the front yard of a home on Jose Ernesto Street. The argument escalated into an exchange of gunfire between the two.

Detectives said that's when the victim ran and got into his vehicle where Theus allegedly shot him before fleeing the scene.

Detectives said they arrested Theus that same day a short time later when he returned to the scene.  They said he was taken into custody without any issues.

Theus was booked into the Las Vegas City Jail on one count of first degree murder with a deadly weapon.  The Clark County Coroner's Office is expected to release the identity and official cause and manner of death of the victim.
