NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. - A viewer says the condition of southbound I-15 between Lamb Boulevard and Craig Road is horrendous. She says she worries the choppy road will destroy her tires.
The Nevada Department of Transportation is responsible for maintaining the road.
NDOT has plans for this stretch of I-15. The I-15 North Phase 2 Project is one of four phases to improve the I-15 corridor stretching from the Spaghetti Bowl to the Apex interchange. That section stretches 15 miles.
Phase 2 addresses the problems on southbound I-15. The project consists of pavement restoration, pavement widening, replacement of the existing right-of-way fence and more. This particular project will stretch 4.8 miles.
NDOT says the roadwork will improve safety, reduce travel time, decrease congestion and increase the life of payment.
This project is dependent on funding, however. The projected cost ranges from $13.95 million to $14.4 million. NDOT officials say they hope to start work next year.
