LAS VEGAS - A viewer says a tree is blocking a stop sign near Pebble Road and Riley Street. She says she witnessed two cars nearly collide because of the blocked sign.
Traffic8 contacted the county which did not waste any time; crews went to the intersection the same day and trimmed the tree.
County officials say they treat any vegetation that blocks a stop sign, traffic signal or overhead electrical line as an emergency situation. They will remove or trim the plant as soon as possible.
Metro Police, meanwhile, urges drivers to beware of their surroundings, especially when approaching an intersection. Proceed with caution as you enter an intersection, even if you have the right of way. The most important thing is getting to your destination safely. It's not about how fast or how slow you get there.
If you see something obstructing important road signage, contact Clark County or Metro Police.
