Metro releases new information about officer-involved shooting

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police are releasing new information about the officer-involved shooting Monday afternoon.

Police say the man shot by officers is 31-year-old Kyle Kuhn. He has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center and has been charged with resisting a police officer, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon against a police officer and battery domestic violence.

According to police, officers were called to the home near Farm and Ft. Apache roads for a domestic disturbance.

When officers came to the home, they found Kuhn behind a car wearing a mask, hat and sunglasses. Officers gave him commands, which he ignored. Police say at this point, Kuhn walked towards the officers with a large knife raised over his head.

Officers fired a low-lethality shotgun as well as a handgun to stop Kuhn from attacking. The man fell to the ground where he was taken into custody and transported to University Medical Center.

Metro Police identified the officer involved in the shooting as 45-year-old Sergeant Sara Bradshaw. She has been with the department since August 1995.  She has been put on routine administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.
