HENDERSON, Nev. - A viewer asks why Arroyo Grande Boulevard narrows from two lanes to one lane twice between 215 and Horizon Ridge Parkway.
He asks why crews do not make the road one lane throughout this stretch.
The City of Henderson requires developers to build roads that fit the needs of the community. Arroyo Grande was designed to have four lanes, two in each direction. Obviously, that didn't happen.
The developers couldn't get the permission to perform any work on the neighboring owner's property. Henderson worked around the problem by making any road improvements they could. This resulted in the lane shifts in the area.
Henderson officials say they plan to widen the narrow sections of Arroyo Grande, but are still working out the details of that plan. They have not set a start date for that project.
