LAS VEGAS - The 2014-2015 school year begins in a few weeks. The Clark County School District wants parents to ensure their children are registered for school bus service.
For students who are going to a new school, school bus information is now available on the Clark County School District's website.
Parents must provide their child's date of birth and student identification number to obtain specific details on pick-up and drop-off locations, times and routes.
Parents can still apply for transportation. They need to contact their child's school. Students must live at least two miles away from their school to qualify for that school’s bus service. The Clark County School District will make exceptions for road hazards and/or special needs students.
“When there's a certain busy street or intersection that would cause some kind of problems for a child to walk to school," said Michelle Booth with the Clark County School District.
Parents can register for transportation at the Clark County School District’s website or by calling 702-799-8111. The school district will have operators available Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until September 6.
