LAS VEGAS - A driver asks about the status of the project that will connect Harmon Avenue to Valley View Boulevard over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. He says the road also needs some work.
This project was set into motion in 2004. It is part of the larger Harmon/Valley View/Union Pacific Railroad grade separation project that included construction of the Harmon Avenue Bridge over I-15.
The project’s design phase is nearly complete. Unfortunately, the design phase has been that way since summer 2010. The recession is partly to blame. When the economy crashed, Clark County's funds for this project dried up.
The $42 million required to start construction will not be available for another three to four years.
