Police arrest woman after lengthy standoff near Moapa

MOAPA, Nev. -- A woman is in custody after a lengthy standoff with police on I-15 near Moapa.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident started with a robbery in St. George, Utah Thursday afternoon. Police chased the suspect to Mesquite, where Mesquite Police took over the pursuit.

Spike strips placed on the freeway at mile marker 93, which is near Moapa, stopped the car. The female driver refused to get out of the car, and the standoff started at around 5 p.m. She surrendered at approximately 6 p.m.

No one suffered any injuries.
