Suspect ID'd in officer-involved shooting near Carey, Dolly
Las Vegas-- Metro Police released the name of the man who fired several shots at officers during an attempted traffic stop near Lake Mead Boulevard and Walnut Road.
It happened just before 11 p.m. Metro says Officer Ryan , tried to pull over 30-year-old Joshua Bacharach, of Las Vegas, when he fired shots from inside his vehicle.
Bacharach fled and continued firing as the officer followed. When the officer did locate the vehicle in the are of Carey Avenue and Dolly Lane, Bacharach fired at the officer and the officer returned gunfire, police said.
Bacharach ran into a neighborhood. He was found by officers on El Tovar Avenue where he was taken into custody.
No officers were injured. Bacharach was taken to University Medical Center where he was treated for injuries sustained from a Metro police dog during his arrest.
Bacharach is being held at the Clark County Detention Center where he was booked on the following charges: Attempted murder, Discharging a firearm from moving vehicle, Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and Evading.
The officer involved, Officer McNabb, has been employed with Metro Police since Aug. 2004. He is currently on routine paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of a review of this event.
