LAS VEGAS — A Henderson man who was faces a lewd acts charge made his first appearance in court on Wednesday morning.

Forty-year-old Bryan Hargrave stood before Judge William Jansen, and his attorney entered a not guilty plea for him.

He is facing three felony counts of lewdness with a child under the age of 14. According to court documents, Hargrave met the victim and his mother two years ago at the ice arena at the Fiesta Rancho.

Police say Hargrave befriended many single moms who had boys playing hockey. Some people even thought he was "creepy."

Police say he molested the victim at the child's home. When the child’s mother found out nine days ago, she went to police.

In Hargrave's neighborhood on the east end of Henderson, neighbors say he was well-known on the block. One neighbor said Hargrave was like a son to him, and he is shocked by these allegations.

Another neighbor told 8 News NOW she became alarmed this month when she says Hargrave offered to babysit her kids and teach her son to skate. She says something did not sit right with her and she is now grateful she didn’t let Hargrave take care of her children.

A decision about bail is expected in a written motion later on Wednesday.

Hargrave is scheduled to be back in court on July 10.
