1 dead in shooting near Tropicana, Valley View

LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man shot and killed at a gas station near Tropicana Avenue and Valley View Boulevard as 40-year-old Santiago Spicer Flanders.

He died of multiple gunshot wounds.

According to Metro Police, the shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found Flanders lying in the eastbound lanes of Tropicana suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Metro's Homicide Section is investigating the shooting. Police say Flanders parked his car at the gas pumps and remained there for about 30 minutes. Flanders eventually got out of the car and was standing nearby when he was shot.

Two suspects got into a tan, four-door sedan and left the area, police said.

The motive is unknown. There is also no information on the suspects.
