Boy, 11, hurt in hit-and-run crash

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police investigated a hit-and-run crash near Eastern Avenue and Bonanza Road involving an 11-year-old child late Monday evening.

According to police, the crash happened at around 9:30 p.m. when a speeding red Honda, which was heading west on Bonanza, skidded several feet, jumped a curb and hit the child standing on the corner.

Police say the driver then left the scene of the crash.

The car, which might be stolen, was found near 23rd Street and Bonanza. The driver has not been found.

The boy was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
