Ex-husband arrested in woman's murder

LAS VEGAS - Metro Police have arrested a man who they say is responsible for the death of a woman whose body was discovered Friday morning.

According to the arrest report released Monday, officers arrested 37-year-old Marvin Fernando Moran on charges of murder with a deadly weapon and kidnapping with a deadly weapon.

In the arrest report, police received a phone call at around 6 a.m. Friday from a man who said, "there is a b---- dying, go help her out, ain't no joke." The caller also gave an address to an apartment complex on Durango Drive near Sahara Avenue.

When officers found the apartment, they found a woman with serious injuries on the floor. Medical personnel were called, and she was declared dead. According to the report, her hands were tied behind her back and she had been beating with an object.

Police say Moran killed his ex-wife Iris Moran. The suspect told police he was watching his ex-wife. Their two children told officers that their mother was dating someone else and their father knew. They also identified their father as the man who called police to report the victim was dying.

Officers found fresh blood in the suspect's bathroom, the police report said.
