LAS VEGAS -- Law enforcement across southern Nevada will be doubling up officers so no officer will be working a shift alone, following Sunday’s deadly shooting of two Metro Police officers.
According to Henderson and Nevada Highway Patrol, they will have officers working in pairs across all shifts. North Las Vegas has had officers doubling up shifts since budget cuts.
Metro announced Monday it is moving to emergency mobilization, which means more officers on the street and 12-hour shifts for all officers. Plain-clothes officers will be dressed in uniform to show solidarity.
Metro Police say it was this time last year that they started seeing a spike in deadly motorcycle crashes. A woman is facing life-threatening injuries after she was involved in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening at Arville and Russell. Vanessa Murphy reports.More>>
