LAS VEGAS - Metro Police searched an apartment near Charleston Boulevard and Bruce Street Sunday night and Monday morning. Sources say police served a search warrant for one of the units, which is believed to be the home of two people who shot and killed two police officers and a third person Sunday.

Investigators are trying to piece together a motive for the shooting. Police cleared the scene of the apartment complex Monday morning. Officers blocked off the area for hours and evacuated residents.

Officers boarded up an apartment on the second floor. It is unclear if they removed any items.

The shooting occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. Sunday near Stewart Avenue and Nellis Boulevard. Police say a man and a woman walked into a Cici's Pizza restaurant and shot Officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo at point blank range. The officers were eating lunch at the time.

Witnesses say the shooters grabbed the officers’ ammunition and weapons and yelled, “This is a revolution." The suspects then ran across the street to a Walmart, where they shot and killed a bystander.

Metro says the suspects ran to the back of the store and killed themselves in what police are calling a suicide pact.

Metro Detective Richard Golgart says he knew one of the fallen officers.

"My heart sunk, because I couldn't… I could never imagine what my family would go through if… to know what his family is going to go through right now,” he said.

Officers Beck and Soldo leave behind families. Beck had a wife and three children. Soldo had a wife and a baby.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the identities of the third victim and the suspects, once next of kin have been notified.

A vigil for the fallen officers is scheduled Monday evening.
