LAS VEGAS -- A Las Vegas man is under arrest and facing felony charges of furnishing a dangerous drug without a prescription, after a raid on fraudulent medical offices.

Metro Police arrested Erik Vargas-Rivera after raiding the offices May 28.

According to police, officers, along with representatives from the medical examiners board and city business licensing department, investigated a medical office on Oakey and Decatur boulevards, after a report to the state pharmacy board that an illegal dentist’s office was operating there.

During the investigation, police say they found the dentist’s office, a primary-care physician’s office and a joint and pain management clinic in the same office. The businesses were connected through a common hallway.

Police say they found a large amount of dangerous and scheduled narcotics in the business. They also found radioactive medical equipment and chemicals. The State of Nevada Bureau of Radiation Control was called in to render the equipment and chemicals safe.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Metro’s Violent Crimes Section, at (702) 828-5634, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
