Good Samaritans lift car off motorcyclist hurt in crash

LAS VEGAS -- Quick-thinking construction workers and a nurse were able to help rescue a motorcyclist who was involved in a crash Thursday morning in west Las Vegas.

The wreck happened around 8 a.m. at Desert Primrose Lane and Town Center Drive.

A student at Faith Lutheran, which is near where the accident happened, who witnessed it all and called 911 describes herself as "freaking out."

"The next thing I see there's a body under the car," said Francesca Pfeiffer. "I see it being dragged along."

Moments later, Pfeiffer said construction workers rushed over and actually picked the car up off the man. "There happened to be a nurse and they opened his throat so he could breathe," she said.

The man was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.

"It renews your faith in the human spirit when people come out and help others," said Metro Police Sgt. Richard Strader. "We're glad they were there and able to help out."

Police said it initially appears the car pulled out in front of the motorcycle and violations for the car's driver are pending.
