LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Eva Longoria's female-focused steakhouse has closed less than two years after opening in a swanky shopping center on the Las Vegas Strip.

Officials with parent company Landry's say SHe by Morton's shut down effective Sunday. Company executives did not immediately return messages seeking further explanation of the closure.

The steakhouse ran into trouble with health inspectors last month, when the Southern Nevada Health District temporarily closed the restaurant. Inspectors gave the restaurant numerous demerits, mostly related to keeping food at proper temperatures and maintaining accurate thermometers.

The eatery quickly reopened with a grade `A' from the health district.

Longoria partnered with Morton's steakhouse to open SHe in late 2012. It was inside the Crystals shops at the Aria casino and featured a catwalk and smaller portion sizes for female customers.
