LAS VEGAS -- A 15-year-old Las Vegas boy is being charged as an adult in the murder of his older brother, the District Attorney's Office said Wednesday.

According to arrest report released Wednesday by Metro Police, the suspect, 15-year-old Turner Bronson, and the victim, his 18-year-old brother Clayton Bronson, had fought several times before the night of the shooting because Clayton wanted Turner to "get his life together."

On the night of the shooting, which was May 22, the boys' mother, Wendy Bronson, had told Turner that he was going to a wilderness camp in Texas for 45 days because of behavioral problems.

Later that night, while at their home near Robindale Road and Buffalo Drive, Turner and Clayton got into another fight because Clayton had stopped Turner from going to his girlfriend's house, the report said.

While Wendy Bronson was upstairs, she heard the boys fight again and then heard a gunshot. When she came downstairs, she told police she saw Clayton with a gunshot wound to his stomach. He told her that Turner had shot him. She says Turner then took the gun and shot Clayton in the head.

District Attorney Steve Wolfson said the night of the shooting boiled down to choices.

"Juries are always going to want to know why. It is not as if it was an adult and sometimes when adults do things we can understand, it is a little better, it's a little harder to understand when someone is so young," Wolfson said.

The DA added when it comes to Turner's age, the law shows no sympathy, and he will face the blind scales of justice.

"The age didn't matter, under the law right now if you're 8 or older and you commit the crime of murder you are charged as an adult,” Wolfson said.

The suspect stayed at the scene until police arrived. Police say Turner would not give his side of the story when he was questioned. Detectives noted he laughed and smiled at times during the interview.

Turner is being charged with first-degree murder.
