LAS VEGAS -- The actions of a Metro Police officer in the shooting of a suspect were found to be legally justified, said the Clark County District Attorney's Office on Wednesday.
Antoine Hodges was shot in the abdomen on Oct. 21, 2013 at Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue. Hodges' injuries were not life-threatening and he was treated and released from the hospital.
The Metro officer approached Hodges because he matched the description of a suspect in a deadly double shooting. According to Metro, Hodges did not follow the officer's commands and reached his hand behind his back. The officer feared Hodges was going for a weapon so he fired at him. Hodges was not armed.
