The Cromwell officially opens Wednesday

LAS VEGAS - It’s billed as the Strip’s first stand-alone boutique hotel. The Cromwell holds its grand opening Wednesday.

The resort, which replaces Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall at Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard, opens after more than a year of renovations.

The Cromwell will contain 188 rooms and have a 1920’s apartment vibe. The vintage style also includes wall paper, dark colors, a hint of gold and dark wood floors. All the rooms include coffee tables with board games.

Cromwell General Manager Karie Hall describes the hotel as a mix of classic and modern Las Vegas.

"As you walk in, it’s really a little bit of a throwback to when people went out and dressed up,” she said. “It’s classic Las Vegas, but done with a modern flair and done with some modern amenities.”

If you want to enjoy the nightlife at the hotel, Drai’s After Hours will hold a soft opening this weekend. It's one of two clubs at the hotel. Drai's Beach Club/Nightclub is the other one.

For your dining pleasure, celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis will open her first restaurant at the hotel.

Caesars Entertainment invested $225 million to renovate the hotel. The ribbon cutting ceremony takes place Wednesday at 3 p.m.
