HENDERSON, Nev. -- Someone dumped a dog in a Henderson neighborhood and the family who found her needs help in getting her adopted. And the whole thing was caught on surveillance camera.

Graci already seems like a member of the Luisi family. She's only been there for two weeks, but is well-behaved and friendly.

"We made sure she got a rabies shot and we checked her to see if she was chipped to bring her back to her owner," said Toni Luisi, who found the pup.

You can clearly see the dog being dropped by an SUV in the Cul-de-sac and then taking off.

"She's a love and I feel really bad that someone could actually open a car door and just dump this beautiful animal," said Luisi. That also changed her mind about returning the dog to its owners.

"How do they treat their children if this is how they treat their dog?"

Animal abuse in Clark County is a misdemeanor that carries a $1,000 fine.

"The only thing we couldn't do is get the license plate," she said.

In the meantime, Luisi has her hands full with two dogs and wants to find someone who could love the dog as much as she has.

"We're going to keep her for as long as we can," she said. "It would be better, because she's so young, to get into a stable environment now so people can get used to her and train her the way they want her to be trained."

Graci is a 38-pound Labrador mix. A vet estimates she's about 6 months old.
