Attempted robbery leads to shooting

Posted: Updated:
LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police are looking for the suspect of an attempted robbery Wednesday night.

Police say a Hispanic man went into a doughnut shop near Desert Inn Road and McLeod Drive shortly before 11:30 p.m. and demanded money from customers inside the business. The suspect indicated he had a gun, but police say they are not certain if he actually did.

The store owner pulled out a gun, and the two struggled over the firearm. Police say the store owner fired the gun and may have struck the attempted robber in the shoulder.

The suspect fled the scene and was last seen running westbound. He is described as a 5'8" Hispanic male. He was wearing a bandana over his mouth and a gray hoodie.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
