Woman receives new habitat home

Las Vegas-- Denzi Watts, a single mother of three, said this is definitely a Mother's Day to remember. Watts now has the keys to her new Habitat for Humanity home.

"Best mother's day present ever, you know?" Watts said. "To be able to move into my home for Mother's Day, it's a blessing."

Watts helped earn her newly-renovated home by helping build houses for others. Over the past several months, Watts completed more than 300 "sweat equity" hours on her new home and by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Southern Nevada.

It's a lot of people, a lot of volunteers, a lot of volunteer hours," said Erika Christensen, Director of Community Outreach for Habitat for Humanity. "It's really a labor of love whenever we give one of these homes."

Watts is glad she and her daughters have a permanent place to call home.

"It's an amazing feeling that you finally have a place to live," Watts said. "You don't have to move anymore. It's nice."

The home was donated to Habitat for Humanity by Bank of America. Bank of America also donated more than $20,000 for renovations to Watts' home. That money went to painting, landscaping, flooring and damage repair.
