Man shot, injured by police indicted in crime spree

LAS VEGAS -- A 40-year-old man who was shot by Metro Police March 3 after reportedly pointing his gun at officers was indicted by a Clark County grand jury on 19 criminal counts connected to an alleged string of assault and attempted robbery incidents.

Bail was set at $1 million for Julio Estrada-Lopez, who is in custody at the Clark County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in court May 15.

Police were called after Estrada-Lopez allegedly tried to steal a vehicle on Suzy Court while pointing a gun at the vehicle's owner. After he led police on a foot Chase, Estrada-Lopez allegedly pointed his firearm at police near Charleston Boulevard and U.S. 95.

He was then transported to University Medical Center for treatment.
