Henderson-- A 39-year-old woman was hit and killed by a vehicle Saturday night while trying to cross Lake Mead Parkway.
Henderson Police say she was hit around 9:15 p.m. by a westbound Ford Expedition driven by Martel Cage, 27, as she was trying to cross Lake Mead at Taylor Street. The woman was crossing at an intersection with crosswalk markings, however, witnesses told investigators that she was crossing against the crosswalk signals.
The woman was taken to Sunrise Hospital where she died from her injures around 11:30 Saturday night. The driver of the Ford Expedition was not injured.
Cage voluntarily submitted to blood testing to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. A preliminary investigation also indicates that speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash. It remains under investigation.
