LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police have identified the officers involved in a deadly shooting earlier this week.

The officers are Officer Michael Henry, 43, who has been with the department since 2003; Officer Chad Cruse, 29, with the department since 2010; Officer Brooke Lavin, 35 with the department since 2001 and Officer Bengamin Baldassarre, 30, with the department since 2009.

The officers were at a standoff with a man, identified as 46-year-old Herbert Earl Green, at a home near Sandhill Road and Hacienda Avenue Tuesday afternoon. After trying to talk to Green for several hours, police say he came out of the home armed with a handgun.

Officers say Green fired at them and they returned fire, hitting him. The suspect died at the hospital.

The officers have been placed on routine paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the review of the shooting.
