LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police released new details about a shooting Tuesday night that left one man dead.
According to police, officers were called to the 2200 block of Dune Drive, which is near Tonopah Drive and Washington Avenue, just after 10 p.m., on a report of a man shot. When police arrive, they found a man dead in the passenger seat of a car. Police were also called to the 700 block of Dike Lane, which is nearby, on a report of a shots fired in the area.
During a preliminary investigation, homicide detectives found that the victim and two other men were in a car at Dike Lane. The driver pulled over to check his tire when he heard gunshots. He told police that is when he realized the passenger in his car had been shot.
The driver got into the car and drove to the Dune Drive location where he called police.

This is the 39th homicide investigation in Metro's jurisdiction so far this year.
