LAS VEGAS -- A Las Vegas man pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to one count of failing to file a tax return for 2007, a year in which his gross income exceeded $7.4 million, said Internal Revenue Service Acting Special Agent in Charge David Lowe.
Sentencing for Shawn Lampman, 48, is scheduled for June 18. Failing to file a tax return is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in prison and a maximum $25,000 fine. The tax loss will be determined at sentencing but is expected to be $1 million to $2 million.
The case is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office in Las Vegas, with assistance from Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation.
