LAS VEGAS - The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the woman killed after being hit by a van Wednesday morning as 45-year-old Sherri Bartold.

Her cause of death is still pending.

According to police, Bartold was struck and killed by a van shortly before 6 a.m. along Spring Mountain Road near Decatur Boulevard.

Police say Bartold was not in a crosswalk when she was hit. She was walking with a man who was pushing a shopping cart. He made it to the other side of the street and was yelling to Bartold to get out of the road when she was struck.

She was taken to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Police did not cite the driver of the van.

Both directions of Spring Mountain Road between Decatur and Lindell Road were closed for more than two hours while police investigated.

Metro Police say this is the 23rd  road fatality this year.
