LAS VEGAS -- The mother accused of drowning her toddler son told police "it was like a demon inside of me took over," according to the arrest report for Christine Allen.

Allen, 30, is facing a murder charge in the drowning of 3-year-old Noah Lane Allen. The drowning happened Saturday night in a condominium near Buffalo and Vegas Drives. When firefighters arrived at the home on Clarkdale Drive, Allen was found sitting on the floor in the living room and the child was in the tub and unresponsive. He was transported to Sunrise Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

According to the police report, Allen told police she suffers from depression and was getting evicted.  The report states, she told police she asked Noah if he wanted to go swimming and pushed his head under the water as he struggled. She said he was able to get his head out of the water and said, "I don't want to go swimming." Allen said she pushed his head back under. She also told police she "blacked out" and when she "came to" her son was dead face down in the tub.

Allen said she thought Noah would be better off dead than being part of a split family, according to the report.

Allen was booked into Clark County Detention Center on a murder charge.
