Man Indicted in New Year's Shooting

LAS VEGAS -- An Armenian national accused of shooting another man in the stomach on New Year's Day was indicted by a Clark County grand jury in connection with the case.

Alen Kareyan was charged with attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, and burglary while in possession of a firearm.

The shooting occurred around 5:30 a.m. at the XS Cafe Bar on Jones Boulevard near Spring Mountain Road following an argument at the bar, police said at the time. The victim, Glavas Borislav, was hospitalized but survived the wound.

Kareyan is not in custody after bonding out on $100,000 bail, but is scheduled to next appear in court on March 5.
