LAS VEGAS - A viewer says eight street lights are out at the intersection of Campbell Road and Dorrell Lane. This presents a dangerous situation, since children are often present as a result of two nearby play areas.
Those street lights are not yet under the legal authority of the City of Las Vegas. The developer of this private property went out of business before completing required street light work. Since the city does not own the property, it is not authorized to touch the lights.
The city, however, found a legal loophole. Crews were able to modify the lighting circuitry in the area, while still requiring the private developer to make full repairs to the lights.
City crews found a unique way to get these lights energized and back on.
