I-Team: Boulder City Councilman to Answer Ethics Questions

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- The I-Team has learned Boulder City Councilman Cam Walker is being hauled before the state ethics commission to answer questions about an alleged conflict of interest.

The complaint was filed by former Boulder City Police Chief Tom Finn, who was fired last year. Finn alleged that Walker had a gross conflict of interest when he voted on a proposal before the city council involving a plan to build a billion dollar solar plant.

At the time Walker made the vote, he was employed by a construction company that was being considered as the general contractor for the power plant project.

The complaint alleges that Walker should have abstained on an issue in which he held a substantial financial interest. The ethics commission decided there is enough merit to the complaint that a two-day hearing has been set for April.

Notice of Ethics Hearing

The complainant, former Chief Finn, has asked that he be allowed to question Councilman Walker during the hearing.
