LAS VEGAS -- A Clark County grand jury indicted a Las Vegas man Friday in connection with a string of armed robberies at fast-food restaurants around southern Nevada.

The jury indicted 34-year-old Bernard Young on several counts, including robbery with use of a deadly weapon, victim over 60 years old, attempted robbery with used of a deadly weapon and battery with substantial bodily harm.

According Metro Police, during August and September, Young would try to rob people waiting in drive-thru lanes at fast food places between 11:30 p.m. and 3 a.m., all in the area of I-15 and Sahara Avenue. In all, seven people reported the crime.

Young would approach people in their cars, show them a gun and demand money, police said. Sometimes people would give him the money they had and other times he left with nothing. Many of the victims had just left casinos and had cash from their winnings.

Police say Young punched one of the victim's in the face after the victim got out of his car and started yelling at him.

Young told police he used a BB gun but was able to get people to give him money by scaring them with the gun and using a loud voice. He also expressed regret to police during his interview.
