Second Court Marshal Terminated in Groping Case

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- The I-Team has learned that a second Clark County marshal has been terminated in connection with allegations of groping by fellow marshal at the Family Court.

Marshal James Kenyon has been terminated by Clark County. Kenyon was connected to the case involving Monica Contreras and former marshal Ron Fox. Contreras accused Fox of touching her breasts while searching for drugs before a Family Court hearing in 2011.

Courtroom video of the confrontation gained national attention after the I-Team broke the story in March 2013. In the video, Contreras is seen telling the hearing master that the marshal had touched her and pleading for justice.

Fox told Kenyon to handcuff Contreras. He is seen on the video putting her in handcuffs.

"As the judge, I decide who the judicial marshal will be in my department. It is no longer James Kenyon. Due to the Clark County Merit Personnel Policy, I cannot comment on the specific details of a personnel matter," Judge William Gonzalez said in a statement.

Fox was fired after an internal affairs investigation. The incident and another involving a woman who claims court marshal choked her has led to a federal grand jury.
