HENDERSON, Nev. - A viewer says the traffic lights at Wagonwheel Drive and U.S. 95 are not detecting cars for several minutes in the middle of the night.
Henderson officials checked this light. A technician said the signal rests green on Wagonwheel by design, since that prevents drivers from speeding down the ramps as they try to catch the green light.
Crews found the longest wait-time was 30 seconds, which is considered normal given the configuration at the intersection. Technicians also discovered the vehicle detection system is working properly.
While many drivers want a traffic light to change immediately upon arrival, ramps are more complex and will take longer than four-legged intersections.
