LAS VEGAS -- During the Las Vegas Mayor's Cup International Showcase, some hot tempered parents threw punches at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex.
The fight broke out Saturday evening. This is the largest youth soccer tournament of its kind in the country with 8,000 players coming from 29 states and 13 foreign countries.
When an 8 News Now crew arrived at the event they saw a scene with police cars, multiple people in handcuffs, and one man icing his face.
A city spokesperson says 15 adults were involved in a fight near field three. Some of them were trying to break up the fight, and no one was seriously hurt.
Witnesses told 8 News Now that parents from opposing teams were next to each other on the sidelines. Words were exchanged about a soccer game, and then the argument became physical.
According to a city spokesperson, one citation was issued.
The tournament continues through Monday.
