LAS VEGAS -- The Coroner's Office has released the name of the man killed in a crash near Spring Mountain and Decatur Boulevard Early Friday morning.

He's been identified as 35-year old Quinton Alton.

According to Metro Police, he was traveling at a high rate of speed headed westbound on Spring Mountain, lost control, ran off the road, hit a light pole, rolled over and finally came to rest after slamming into the side of a building.

"Hit the bump in the roadway here, lost control, rolled off on its side, went onto the northside of the road and then slammed into the wall." Metro Sgt. Richard Strader said.

Sgt. Strader says that about 10 minutes before the crash officers noticed the car near the Fashion Show Mall, driving without lights. They tried to stop the driver, but he sped away. The officers did not pursue, which is department policy.

"If it is a minor traffic violation, we're not going to continue to pursue somebody," Sgt. Strader said.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was the only person in the car.

The building the driver crashed into is home to Kilroys Bar. The bar's owner installed concrete barriers after a similar accident seven years ago where a car actually came through the wall.

"It was incredible. The ice machine, everything came forward. The bartender at the time, she just barely got missed by the car," bar patron Kip Walters said.

Since then the barriers have stopped two more crashes.

"That it has happened again. This will be the third time that somebody's hit the back of this building," Walters said.

The intersection of Spring Mountain Rd. and Decatur Blvd. was closed for several hours after the 4 a.m. crash.

Police also made an arrest of a suspected drunk driver who drove into the area which was barricaded for the crash. Police say that driver hit a police car. No one was injured.
