Regulator: Investigation into Sands Hack Ongoing

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A Nevada gambling regulator now says it's unclear whether the hackers who knocked down all Las Vegas Sands websites for three days and counting stole patron data, including credit card information.

Nevada Gaming Control Board chairman A.G. Burnett said earlier Thursday that the player information had not been compromised, but he later amended that statement. He says Sands told him preliminary indications suggest patron data and credit card information had not been accessed, but the company is continuing to investigate.

Burnett says regulators' first priority after the world's largest casino operator was hacked Monday was to ensure the safety of player information and the integrity of gambling systems.
