HENDERSON, Nev. - A Henderson resident is concerned about speeding along Bicentennial Parkway. She wants a speed bump, roundabout or stoplight on the street.
Bicentennial Parkway is zoned for 35 mph, but some say drivers reach speeds of 80 mph. Some drivers have driven in the wrong direction. The resident worries about the safety of her ten-year-old child at the bus stop at Via Firenze and Bicentennial.
The speeding is an enforcement issue. Traffic8 has already alerted police of the problem.
The City of Henderson added one-way signage to Bicentennial to help alleviate the wrong-way driving issues. Traffic engineers are also looking at a redesign of Bicentennial Parkway and Via Firenze.
The hope is that these steps improve safety in the area.
