NHP: Driver Who Killed 2 Above Legal Limit

LAS VEGAS -- The 51-year-old man involved in the deadly fatal crash along Summerlin Parkway had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

The driver is still at University Medical Center but will be booked into jail when his condition improves. He is expected to be charged with two counts of DUI causing death, NHP said.

Last week, troopers say the man was driving a pickup truck the crossed the median along Summerlin Parkway at Rampart Boulevard and slammed head-on into another car.

Savanna Gonzales, 20 of Las Vegas, and her boyfriend, Frank Spenia, 31 of Las Vegas, both died in the crash.
